Cottage Covets: I stopped in to visit Linda with Misty Mountain Farm. I was excited to find out her daughter Leanna is the genius behind one of my favorite yarns, Blue Ridge Yarns. Long ago I knit a pair of socks for myself out of her yarn line Bambie in the Apple Rose colorway. Bambie is 65% wool and 35% bamboo and these socks were so soft, so silky... just heaven. The yarn was lovely to knit with and the bamboo content sort of toned down the the dyes and they became these soft, muted beautiful tones. I have not seen this yarn line out in stores for quite a while so I am excited to have a source for it once again. I was also excited to see all the Spinning Wheels Linda has. She is a dealer for several brands I have been eying. I will set up some lessons with her and try out a few until I find one I like.
Tranquil Home: I am very excited to announce that...TA-DA!!! I have a tomato! We really wondered and worried that the garden was not going to get enough light. Especially after it seems all my plants were stunted by the cool mountain nights. It may not seem like much, but the arrival of one small green tomato was a huge deal. I will be keeping vigil and guarding against raccoons at night.
Getting needled: Nearly done the Harvest Dew socks! I thought I would be done by now but the inertia of daily life stepped in and gave me a reality check! I would be done but I realized I would like them a bit longer so I ripped back the toe of sock # 1 and am lengthening it. Sock # 2 is complete.
Lets make a toast: Diet Mountain Dew anyone?
